Just went to Taco Republic on the service road of 75 just a bit north of Spring Valley and as the title indicates, it was awesome. The tacos are pricey, ranging from $2.50-3.50 each, and are not larger than your typical "street taco" (I hate that expression). But they are interesting and fantastic. I had 3: Thai Chihuaha, Route 66 and Baja Style. The Thai Chihuaha has hoisin pork carnitas topped with
asian slaw & sriracha. It was delicious. The route 66 has green chile pork stew topped with
avocado & fresh cilantro and was just alright. My far and away favorite was the Baja Style which now holds the title as my favorite fish taco in Dallas. Beer battered tilapia topped with red
cabbage slaw & lime crema.
I hadn't heard of it until recently so I thought I'd post my take here.
