July is Chowhound’s 20th anniversary month and we are thrilled to start the celebration with a very special guest: Tyler Florence.

For the past 20 years, Chef Tyler Florence has delighted the masses by sharing the sights, sounds, and flavors of his unique culinary vision with fans around the world.

After graduating from the prestigious culinary program at Johnson & Wales University, Tyler tackled the Big Apple where he helmed multiple acclaimed restaurants and established himself as one of New York City’s finest young stars.

He has taken his food and his wit across the globe, finely tuning what is regarded as one of America’s most important culinary voices.

He is the author of 15 cookbooks. In June 2017, he released his most recent book “Family, Friends and Weekends, Vol. III (Chatbooks).

In June 2010 Tyler opened his highly acclaimed San Francisco restaurant, Wayfare Tavern, followed in early 2011 with the opening of Tyler Florence Fresh, located at San Francisco International Airport. This spring the much anticipated bar/lounge, The Sequoia, opened in the Heart of the San Francisco Financial District.

Tyler recently launched his “Wolf It Down” weekly podcast series, available through Apple iTunes. Whether you're a foodie or a chef, amateur or seasoned professional, you will find Wolf It Down a fun, informative, and fascinating podcast:

He lives in NO. Calif., with his wife, Tolan, and has three children: sons, Miles and Hayden, and daughter, Dorothy.
