Table d'Hote Brunch Review

G3B | Jan 21, 2008 04:55 AM

We were there for brunch this past cold cold Sunday. It was OK, but all three of us preferred Sarabeth's brunch from a few weeks ago. We had the french toast, cheddar omelette with herb omelette. None of it was bad, just none of it was very good. It was serviceable and not a treat like Sarabeth's a few Sundays ago.

It was freezing in the restaurant. We had our coats on for most of the meal. I thought it would warm up after a bit, but even after an hour it was still freezing and when I asked the waiter he said that the room usually warmed up with more people in it. We were the first table there and on our way out an hour and half later there were only 2 or 3 more tables dining.

Sorry but we won't be going there again. Sarabeth's is great, just can't stand the no reservations and long waits sometime. Although next time I might just do it early unless someone can give me a better suggestion for our pre-museum meal. I don't want to wind up at Jackson Hole. We need to be close by, so choices east of Madison Avenue won't work.
