Szechuan Tasty House - opening Sunday

Walking down Arch street yesterday saw a new place opening up in what was, “Lucky Garden” up until very recently at 902 Arch Street (Lucky Garden was a bit of a stinker, steam tables and a $4 buffet that reeked of desperation). The new place is called “Szechuan Tasty House” but the sign says something completely different. One of the girls setting up the new place saw me pop my head in the window and came running out with a menu and said it opens up on Sunday. Menu looks good w/some dishes that I feel are missing in Chinatown, like Dan Dan noodles. They’ve also got some other Sichuan stuff like Chand-du cold noodles, ban ban chicken, and some good looking fu zhou entrees and soups. The menu says knife clam w/egg but I’m fairly certain they meant to say “razor clam.” They’ve got several dishes listed as spicy, which makes me hopeful.

A good list of oddball stuff like fish paste and sour mustard soup, cattle viscera w/mei fun soup, green chives eggplant puffs. Sounds interesting if nothing else.
