Szechuan Chonquing (Commercial Drive)

Had such great meals there recently that I felt like I should share with the group. Both times we had fresh crab - once in spicy black bean sauce (an off the menu item) and once in their dai ching sauce. Both were out of this world and we asked for the extra sauce to be put in a dish so that we could have it with rice after the crab was decimated. The General Tso chicken and the Chonquing chicken were also excellent - the General Tso's was crispy, slighly sweet and spicy and the Chonquing was served slightly smoky, pan fried on a bed of crispy spinach. Spicy pea pods, mushrooms and asparagus had just the right kick to them and so much flavour. Other items (hot and sour soup, prawns and scallops in black bean, lettuce wraps) were very good but these are the dishes that stood out in our meals. I didn't have a very good dining experience at the Broadway location of Chonquing but the Commercial Drive location is fantastic - and is nicer inside.
