RE: Szechuan Chef --YUM!

Thanks to Chowhound, just had dinner at Szechuan Chef (15015 Main St. Bellevue 425-746-9008) and it was really delicious! As previously mentioned, it's only been open a few weeks, but already seems to be drawing a large crowd--mostly Asian tonight, which we considered a good sign.

There were 3 of us and we intentionally ordered familiar dishes that we like--hot and sour soup came in a huge bowl and was hot both temperature and spicy, but not too spicy. The steamed potstickers were also a huge portion and were large and succulant with a dellicious spicy sauce on the side. The Szechuan chicken was in a spicy, gingery sauce with lots of chopped vegetables, mostly very tender bamboo shoots and cilantro; and the seafood and tofu were in a spicier sauce that was also delicious and with steamed rice. We ate well and have enough for dinner tomorrow night as well (yeah!)--really large portions. Tea was very good too.

The service was fast and friendly and the decor was nice enough--orange walls and marble table tops and fake bamboo plants--lots of room. Only downside was that it was a bit loud, but the food more than makes up for that.

Thanks Chowhounders for reporting this place--I'd say it's the best lowpriced Chinese restaurant in North Bellevue.
