Sybil's West Indian cuisine (second branch on Hillside ave)

Had a delicious meal on Saturday. The woman behind the counter says the owner is the brother of the owner of the original location. Classic little joint with a steam table that takes up the whole restaurant other then the opposite wall with a few two tops. Best of all the entire back, as seen through the glass door is a bakery /kitchen. Yes my chicken in the chicken curry was dry but the curry was excellent and it was as good and fresh a roti as I have ever had. Little, I mean maybe three inches wide tartlet of chicken curry were nice. For dessert they have ultra thin fruit pastries hot from the oven.

Thanks to again, Joey D at Chopsticks and Marrow for the tip

My usual spot is Singh's on the other side of the Van Wyck but this is closer and just as good. Next time I will pick up something from Spicy Lanka across the street. This area of Jamaica is so under the radar, even in the heyday of Chowhound this was undiscovered country..
