I drive through Half Moon Bay frequently, but I'm always on my way somewhere and it's rarely during retail business hours, so it took me more than a year to wander into Sweet55 chocolate. This was a serious oversight on my part!

This small shop right on Hwy 1 in the Shoreline Station strip mall (better known to chowhounds as the site of Dad's Luncheonette) sells chocolates made on site by a Swiss-born chocolatier. I think I've tasted almost all the locally made chocolates, and these are among the best: the flavor combinations really work, and are interesting but not forced or contrived. She also offers a small selection of baked goods

I'll note that she won several awards at the most recent SF Chocolate Salon and best chocolate bar at the 2018 Good Food Awards.
