About a month ago I asked for a recipe for a Swedish cardamom braid for my friend's smorgasbord tonight. I thought I'd post a photo of the result. I found a recipe online and made the whole thing into one bread instead of separate loaves. I formed it into a 12-strand compound braid (a six-strand braid on top of two three-strand braids), using a challah braiding technique.
The top scorched a bit because I wasn't sure how long to bake such a large loaf, plus there was sugar on top that darkened more quickly than I expected. Nevertheless, the texture and flavor were very good and the loaf disappeared quickly.
