Many have raved about Sushi Yasuda on this board, while simultaneously bemoaning the prices. I had the privilege of having lunch there the other day, and it was excellent sushi, and reasonably priced for the quality. How, you ask? They have a special sushi lunch that allows you to try 5 pieces of sushi and two rolls, with soup or salad and dessert for about $20. The selection is somewhat limited to "basic" sushi -- no toro, no kanpachi, but the quality is excellent, and they do include specials on the little menu card that you fill out (I had a white salmon roll, which was excellent). I don't know if this is offered on weekends, but if your in midtown at lunchtime and are jonesing for sushi, this is a pretty good bet.
