Sushi Tsujita opens today. How do you think it'll do, w/Kiriko, Mori, Shunji less than 2 miles away?

Testing the Link format... Below is my post from Eater LA* (photo by Eater staff photog Elizabeth Daniels). I also have a more in-depth conversation with Tsujita G.M. Kenta Ikehata on my blog: http://theoffalo.com/2014/08/sushi-ts....

It seems in line with many of the high-end places, price-wise: $120 for appetizers, sashimi, 10 or so pieces of nigiri, palate cleanser, soup, and dessert. Maybe a little on the pricey side for the number of nigiri (like closer to Q pricing)? But maybe not, depending on the other courses. I'm actually not sure what omakase prices are like these days; haven't had omakase in at least six months.

Be interesting to see what they do with edomae sushi here, if they'll be using akasu (red vinegar) or just a less sweet shari (sushi rice). Doubt the line will be spilling into the sidewalk like with the two noodle shops.

[Edit: The restaurant's webpage is http://tsujita-la.com/sushi-tsujita/.]

*I think I'm allowed now to link to my own stuff, per this new policy: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/985121. Don't worry, I will continue to cross-post my blog reports/reviews on CH (if anyone's actually worried about that).

Sushi Tsujita, Ramen Powerhouse's Foray into Omakase

Tsujita's highly anticipated third L.A. location will not be serving ramen (or tsukemen, for that matter), much to the chagrin of rameniacs...
