I do not understand why sushi pieces are so large!
I know you can ask for rolls to be cut smaller and nigiri cut in half. My question is why are they that big to begin with. Everything about sushi is practical, artful and makes common sense. The whole idea of combining protein and starch, salt and spice etc. But, why the size. I'm a big guy with a big mouth(not funny). I actually like big bites. But, I've eaten tuna nigiri that stuffed my mouth so much I could not chew. Who eats that way. Spider rolls, forgetaboutit. One of the biggest reasons my wife is turn off by sushi is do to the struggle of getting the right portion.
