Long time foodie and Chowhound lurker - first time nervous poster! I've been using Chowhound for a long time for all my travel food research, and first time posting.
Looking for a reasonable (8000-15000yen max, possibly 20000yen if it is worth it) place for a sushi lunch.
- I've already booked Sushi Iwa based on recommendations here
- I don't speak any Japanese. It won't bother me if the sushi chef doesn't speak English, as long he/she doesn't mind either!
- Considering Sushi Taichi.
- Also heard Kyubei is good for foreigners. I don't mind that it is big and not personal, but I am worried that it is average by Tokyo standards and not memorable. My preference is to try something different, perhaps sushi with more vinegar in the shari.
Please give your thoughts on Taichi or Kyubei, or help to recommend something else. If you have a rough price, that will also be helpful.
