First, I DON'T want all of y'all running over there when I get finished saying what I have to say. The place is only so big, and the staff only so numerous, so some caveats:
IF you live within say...five miles of there, and
IF you have had enough sushi to know and to be able to appreciate what you're eating, and
IF you've been really, really, really good so far this year, (and note that's THREE reallys), then
Go to Sushi Jin on Saturday from about 2pm until closing and sit at the sushi bar and very politely and respectfully ask Leo-san or Andy-san for some of Doobie's chu toro.
Seriously, just ask for the chu toro; they don't know from DoobieWah.
Has to be Saturday because it will be delivered and picked up at IAH sometime in the wee hours on Saturday morning; has to be 2pm on so you don't get in their way while they're prepping the fresh fish.
I've been eating sushi at least once a week, and sometimes more, for the past nine years or so. I'd eschewed it as a West Coast fad for my entire life prior to that. But once I got hooked, I got hooked hard. /NPI
And this chu toro they're getting in right now is the best bite of sushi I've ever had. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but it as good as any o-toro I've had.
Please just have one order because they're not getting a lot of it, and anyone who likes sushi should have a chance to try this stuff.
Really I just want to be sure I get at least one more order!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
P.S. Have anything else the chefs recommend also. They're artists. Simple but amazingly fresh fish and perfectly formed nigiri.
Love those guys.
