Sushi at 11pm?

rameniac | Jun 16, 2008 10:24 PM

Folks, I'm still doing it. I'm not sure why. But by the time dinner rolls around, it's 10 or 11pm and 90% of anything decent within driving distance of downtown LA is closed or winding down. I've posted on this before, and have managed to keep myself fairly satisfied with the usual rotation of semi-late night restaurants (mostly in K-Town).

But last night, I found myself with a deep, primordial craving for sushi. I was wandered around Little Tokyo and everything was pretty much closed (izakaya sashimi plates weren't quite what I was looking for), when it hit me.

Is there anywhere one can get some decent late night nigiri or *gasp* omakase even? With the number of sushi joints about town, I'm thinking there should be something out there that keeps later hours. Studio City, Santa Monica, maybe even in the South Bay. I'd be willing to work for it. Maybe!
