Susan's in Peekskill - staff goes AWOL

PlasticMoonRain | Jan 21, 2008 03:33 PM

Had the weirdest experience at Susan's restaurant in Peekskill, before the Fab Faux concert this past Saturday night.

We went with another couple. Nobody was coming around to take our drink orders, so my wife actually had to go up to the bar and ask for somebody to take it.

A little while later, we ordered our appetizers and main courses. The appetizers came in reasonable time. However, the main courses never arrived. We waited... and waited... and waited.

After 45 minutes, I flagged down the waiter and talk him we had to make our concert. He said most of the restaurant was going to the show and that the food would be out in "two minutes."

Fifteen minutes later, we not only didn't have our food, but both the waiter and the host were missing. We didn't know what to do -- we had to make the concert.

I ran up to a waitress by the bar and said that we had to get our bill immediately or we would leave, we had to get to the concert. There was nobody else to talk with -- it seems most of the staff had disappeared!

No food was forthcoming -- more than an hour had passed since we ordered. So we got up to leave, when suddenly a different waiter appeared out of nowhere with all our food on a tray. I pushed him away, and told him it was too late.

And we left.
