Surprisingly good quality Dim Sum at 'DESTINY'.......( of Bubble Tea fame ), Hwy#7 & E. Beaver Creek, Richmond Hill.

Today's periodic family luncheon gathering involved something quite out-of-the-ordinary! For once, my kids actually took this self- proclaimed ' Canto-phile ' foodie elder for a Cantonese Dim Sum lunch! We ended up at a destination that was fairly new and a surprise to me......'Destiny', a popular Taiwanese Bubble tea joint that has recently added Dim Sum to their snacks dominated repertoire!

My first impression upon entering the super-high ceiling, modernistic-ally designed/decorated, cavernous space was ' Man! this place is HUGE for a Bubble tea place! '.

The four of us ordered a potpourri of popular, regular as well as extraordinary offerings.......plus, of course, some Bubble Teas!

We had the following:
- Har Gow shrimp dumplings
- Freshly baked BBQ pork/Pineapple Buns
- Steamed Chicken Feet
- Steamed Beef Tripe with Ginger and Scallions
- Steamed braised Tripe with Satay Sauce
- Baked Chicken Curry Pie
- Fried Squid Tentacles with Spiced Salt and Pepper
- Fried Chicken Taro Croquettes
- Grilled Beef Ribs with Honey/Lemon Glaze
- Molten Salted Egg Yolk Cream Buns
- Portuguese Egg Custard Tartlettes

Overall, the Dim Sums were of pretty high quality, well prepared and presented, more than acceptable by GTA standard. The choices included some stand outs worthy of special mentioning.....the buttery, fluffy and exotic Chicken Curry Pie, the excellent Taro croquette with generous, delicious juicy filling ( IMHO, one of the best and tastiest rendition in town ), the grilled Beef Ribs and that ' #1 Bun under the Sky '...aka Baked Pineapple/BBQ Pork Buns!.......

Due to their finely crafted food, close proximity to our home and the added attraction of ' Bubble Teas '! This place will for sure become one of my go-to Dim Sum destination.
