For dim sum enthusiasts my favourite place to go for dimsum has got to be Royal Teahouse.. coming from a Cantonese background my weekend lunches growing up were all spent at dim sum restaurants. My family moved from restaurant to restaurant through the years... I used to go to Legend Chinese Restaurant a lot.. now my parents frequent Grass Mountain Villa... to me they could all very much be substitutes for one another (meaning canto restaurants in the GTA).. nothing really stands out. Except for Royal Teahouse.. I love all their dimsum because I think it's all so delicately prepared.. I think they're a step above in terms of the quality and craftsmanship of their dim sum... I wish I could go more often but it is located a bit farther at 10 Applecreek Blvd in Markham.. I think around Highway 7 and Woodbine.. I recommend fellow chowhounders to try it if they haven't already. I love their fried custard bun. They prepare it so that it looks like a little hedgehog or porcupine and then fry it so that the tips are nice and crunchy.. I haven't been there for a long while mostly due to school (in Waterloo) and lack of time.. it's a long drive too since I'm usually in the downtown area.. not sure if the quality has changed since.. but I'll repost when I go back =)
