Im stuck working in Shanghai (have been for 2 months now) and Bonnie is graduating in June. Ill be back in late July/early August. Would like a fine dining oddysey to celebrate her graduation/my vacation/our last time together in nyc as she is moving to san fran shortly and i will be joining when im done with this Shanghai gig next march.
Im thinking something spectacularly gluttonous, yet romantic and houndish. Not necessarily a big name joint but something special with multiple courses and wine pairings. The chef cant be bothered by the fact the shes allergic to shellfish and Im allergic to all nuts, especially peanuts.
Im a culinary graduate and shes a patisserie grad so we know a little about food. Weve done Alain Ducasse and Daniel (though at Daniel, we went overboard with a 10 course degustation with wine and I cant rememember much after the 6th course). Havent done the newer joints....Compass, WD-50, etc, etc.
So...where to go. Price is no object although the food and service should match. NO CHINESE OF ANY REGION!!!! Preferably New American or French. Love Sushi but its not what Im going for, besides, Tsuki (for all its flaws) has our heart and were going there anyway. A few times.
Consider it like this.... Where would you I eat a last supper in NYC. (No hot dogs)
