Super Foodie Japan Trip - Advice On Cities to Include?

My husband and I are doing a foodie trip to Japan in the spring for our belated honeymoon for three weeks. I have been once before (Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nara, Nicco) but this trip will be all about food and sake.

Based on reading lots of articles, I have selected this as the top list of places we need to include:
Tokyo, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Hakodate, Nagoya, Osaka, Takayaman and Fukuoka (which is the furthest and I wonder whether that means we need to fly instead of bullet train). Lower on the list I have considered Takamatsu, Matsumoto and Shikoku but I think we simply won’t have time for all of that.
Right now I am not asking for specific recs on restaurants, though happy to start gathering, but my main question is whether this is the foodie hitlist, or whether I should add/drop certain places. Sake is a big focus for us too, and we hope to plan our days in Kyoto to coincide with the April Sake festival (
