Super Buffet in San Jose

Han Lukito | Oct 5, 2004 01:59 AM

This place claims to be the largest chinese buffet in Bay Area with over 180 items. I think the one in Hayward (New China Buffet) that is newly opened probably has more items.

Standouts were the steak-lots of pepper and some cuts were clearly tender and delicious and these were already a bit cold from sitting around. Also good pork chops. Chicken with peanut sauce is delicious.

The veggies such as the bok choy, broccolis, were all cooked tastefully for the most part. Soups also were decent.

Sushis are not strong points here.

A lot of passable items. But this is one tasty buffet, one of the better ones with actually several tasty items that I kept going back.

For dinner, I saw many more interesting items. A big upgrade from lunch menus.

Cutoff time is 3:30 pm and dinner menu starts at 4 pm. I would not rush to try the dinner menu items as the waiters/waitresses watched like a hawk during the transition. But after a while, they just relented.

Address: 3830 Stevens Creek Blvd., at Saratoga
Avenue, San Jose
