Sunstreet Breads: Wanted to love but can't

I've been to Sunstreet three times. First time: Private catered event and the food rocked.

Second time: Biscuit, egg, cheese and very small piece of bacon.

Third time: Biscuit, egg, cheese and sausage. First served without the cheese. Returned it to the kitchen. It came back with cheese micro'ed on something that was being billed as sausage. I swear there was hamburger in there. Truly awful, weird tasting "sausage." Tough as a rock. Egg was stone cold by then, as was the biscuit.

I really wanted to like the place, and greatly appreciate seeing the owners working the kitchen and the counter. But that piece of pathetic sausage was a deal-breaker for me. I left it conspicuously in the middle of the plate. The gal who cleared the plate said nothing.

I suppose I could have returned the thing to the counter. But the counter was three-deep and I didn't want to make a scene. Plus the thought occurred to me that maybe that really is what they consider to be sausage. In which case, I would have been embarrassed for me, but more for Sunstreet.
