Sunnyside/Woodside recommendations

bliss.street | Apr 20, 2016 10:39 AM

Recently moved to Sunnyside off the 46th Street stop of the 7 train. Seems like a very diverse neighborhood and I've done some exploring but would appreciate any suggestions on restaurants to try and favorite dishes. Open to all types of food. Also, any recommendations on coffee shops, bars, groceries, beer and wine stores, etc?

So far I've tried:

-Turkish - good chicken kebab at Mangal Kebob; decent mixed appetizer platter at Turkish Grill

-Mexican - good al pastor tacos and chicken chipotle soup at Taqueria Santa Fe; good breakfast items and agua frescas (flavors change daily) at The Haab; okay pozole soup at Giovanni's Pizza (this is really more of a mexican joint even though it has pizza in its name); good fried chicken cemita at Cemitas El Tigre

-Pizza - mediocre slices at Sunnyside Pizza, Lenny's, and Giovanni's Pizza

-Rotisserie chicken - Pio Pio Riko (great chicken and green sauce); Don Pollo (dry chicken), Kokoroko (decent)

-Filipino - great food at Tito Rad's

-Colombian - Miracali, El Pilon, El Buen Sabor

-American (?) - very good but pricey Momofuku-like food at Salt and Fat
