The Sunny Sunny Side Café

We had a lovely outing to the Sunny Side Café in Albany on a beautiful mid-summer Sunday for brunch. This restaurant, which sits on a corner across from Safeway, serves an eclectic mix of dishes for brunch. We sat down shortly after arriving in a long table along the wall with a view of the open kitchen. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the omelets (bacon, avocado and gruyere for DS; ham, mushroom, and for JS; and ham, mushroom, gruyere, and jack cheese for JJ), the herb scramble with jack cheese and mushrooms (MM), the mixed fruit and spinach salad (a healthy, tasty selection by HM), the eggs benedict with shrimp and salmon (LJ’s excellent choice). We were all impressed with the casual, friendly service and atmosphere, and the well-prepared, though reasonably priced dishes.
