Sunday night hot spot?

twentyoystahs | Oct 23, 2011 06:28 PM

I post this every once in a while, as my brother-in-law comes to visit from NYC --and wants to go out to a great restaurant, usually on Sunday nights. Food needs to be excellent, of course, but just as important is a vibrant, energetic, busy crowd. That's obviously not hard to find on a Friday or Sat night, but Sunday gets a little tougher. Money is no object, but I think the really high-end places will tend to be more subdued and that's totally not his style. Not picky about the type of food --probably not Asian but anything else is likely a go. We've been to Scampo, Towne, Island Creek Oyster --they were all good choices. I'd love to head back to ICOB but he doesn't want to go to the same place twice (yes, he's a bit high-maintenance.) Anyway, suggestions? How about Bondir? Or is that fairly subdued? I also know some spots aren't open on Sunday nights, so there's that. Any recs/suggestions appreciated. Oh, also, it needs to be a place that we'll take a reservation, unless we can pretty much be assured of getting a table without a wait on a Sunday evening at around 730. Coppa or Toro could fit the bill, but the no reservations thing could be a drag (tho' does Coppa now take them?) Anyway, recs much appreciated, thanks.
