Sunday Night Dinner Austin?

gnujais | Jan 29, 201508:47 AM     14

Arriving in Austin Next Sunday (arrive at airport 7pm)- by the time we check in to the hotel and get our wits about us I assume it will be 8:30-9ish - a little late on a Sunday in some areas -Hopefully not Austin! :)

Looking for some standout ideas you might have - price not a big issue (only the company I keep is an issue - its a business associate who is picky/sheltered to say the least....)

things that will be difficult to pull off w/ him is small plates type servings (will confuse him too much) - not big on spicy food either (he's my polar opposite there!)

I dont mind pushing the envelope with him a bit - the food at odd duck or barley swine wouldnt be bad other than they seem to be the 'small plates' type places (unless i am reading/analyzing their online menus incorrectly)

any and all suggestions are welcome ( iappreciate your time and effort)

also then driving to san antonio for 2 nights on business so if you happen to have any great ideas there please share! trying to avoid the riverwalk scene for the most part - been there in the past... and it wasnt very good (for me anyways)

wednesday afternoon - coming back to austin for the afternoon/night before we fly out the next day - have been to franklin's before and it was great (granted I am from the northeast where BBQ of any quality is scarce to say the least) - was thinking of LaBBQ to avoid the lines of franklins.. any other dynamite BBQ nearby (we will have a car) needs to be somewhere we can eat at though as opposed to just buying brisket, ribs, etc by the pound.. happy for any and all recs!

thanks again!
