sunday night birthday dinner for chicago foodie

alantz21 | Jun 17, 201512:33 PM

Hi all! It's my sister's birthday on Sunday and having grown up in Chicago, we are familiar with a lot of the favorites regularly posted on this board. I'm looking for a really delicious gem in the $15-35 entree range, potentially with a nice outdoor patio since it's summer. She loves really authentic ethnic food or authentic Italian and French (some favorites we've enjoyed recently are Taste of Peru for Peruvian, Demera for Ethiopian, Slurping Turtle for Ramen, New Rebozo for Mexican, Le Bouchon and Kiki's Bistro for French prix fixe, Piccolo Sogno, Anteprima, and Gaetano's in Oak Park for Italian, and Coast for BYOB sushi...I also recommend all of these!)

Does anything exciting come to mind for a fun and affordable dinner with great wine (or BYOB but I know that's tricky) that's RELIABLY delicious for a few courses? Thanks all! Your suggestions are always so great.

Kiki's Bistro,
Taste of Peru,
Demera Restaurant,
Slurping Turtle,
New Rebozo,
Le Bouchon,
Piccolo Sogno,
Anteprima,
Gaetano's Forest Park
