OK CH'ers... a challenging question... and your help will be MUCH appreciated.
Here's the story in a nutshell...
We're early birds and will be in town for a quick weekend trip 3/18 3/19. We'll be on UWS (Bway/75) but happy to travel.
Towards 11AM Sunday morning, we'd have tons of brunch options. For example, I'd be happy to hit Nougatine or The Modern or Untitled or Estella or Chelsea Mkt for Diz or any other *really good* bites anywhere. Or even wait and do lunch as walk-in at EMP bar area.
But we are early birds, we will be ready to also have something at 8AM. We could grab a bagel etc at Zabars etc to tide us over... But I am wondering if there's anything more remarkable we could get - almost anywhere - at that hour on Sunday morning???
Katz's? Dim Sum? We've never done great Sunday morning Dim Sum, my wife would love that (although a clean bright location would help, I once took her to a little borderline "divey" spot on LES for lunch and it was not a hit).
Anyway, all suggs welcome for early Sunday morning plan. Basically, the museums don't open until 10 or 10:30... the brunch/lunch don't start until 11 mostly...
And I am trying to squeeze in as many great bites as possible. Thanks much in advance!!!
