Sunday Market at Jack London

Han Lukito | Aug 17, 200311:46 PM     2

Following the lead of previous hound, I enjoyed this market today. There are probably 40-50 small vendors. Mostly selling vegetables and fruits. Lots of organic things and the prices were doubled for the same fruit that were non-organic - so watch out for that. I bought sweet organic fruits: nectarines, peaches that were much better than at regular supermarkets. Also got the smoked gouda cheese that were great. The same vendor sold cumin cheese, garlic and several other types. The little samples were greatly appreciated. Another vendor sold small chocolate covered toffee cubes and gave out generous samples - very good. The market closes at 2 pm.

At end of the day, had lunch at Tony Romas nearby. Decent ribs and burgers. Killer fries and generous sides (cole slaw, merlot mushrooms).

Not a bad chowday.
