Sunday lunch at Golden City in SD

Green Turtle | Jan 22, 2006 07:42 PM

I ate lunch at Golden City in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego today (Sunday) and saw that they now offer their late night supper menu during this time. So I took advantage by ordering some dishes I don't normally see otherwise. Most dishes are around 5.95-6.15 each. I tried the goat's meat stew which is something I've never had before and it was actually pretty good. Goat's meat is alot like pork with the skin on. I also tried the scallops with tofu in black bean sauce, which was alright, not great or anything. In addition, I ordered the cod fish with green peppers and onions and another dish that's called salty fish with minced pork meat. The latter was quite an unusual dish, something I've never had before and it was actually good. The fish was pretty good, but I think alot of other places serve up something similar like Sam Woo BBQ. Overall, it's worth checking out since they do have alot of variety, so it's worth going there to try their late night menu during lunch time.
