Sunday Certified Farmers Market @ OC Great Park, Irvine

Melanie Wong | Jul 27, 201711:13 AM     2

Besides Salteña Corner's stand https://www.chowhound.com/post/salten... at the Sunday morning market at OC Great Park, the Reed avocados were the best thing I bought. They were enormous in size and the flavor's so deep and buttery. The texture was interesting, lighter and less dense, almost airy. I did not catch the name of the farmer, but there was only one vendor selling avocadoes that day alongside limes.

One of the things that surprised me about this farmers market was how few producers were certified organic and the conventionally grown produce still cost as much as organic does. At home in Northern California, even small farmers markets like this one have half or more farmers that are organic.
