Sunday brunch at Chennai Woodlands

I read Chowcat's post and decided to check this place out. We got there right at the beginning of the buffet (11:30). I can recall there being the following foods... you'll have to excuse my ignorance of most of their non-English names:

Rassam
Some other soup-like dish
Small, crispy, fennel-flavored fritters
Idly
Something like a papadam, but it had a lighter, more shrimp-chip-like texture

White rice
Rice with peppers
Stewed vegetable dish
Stewed potato dish
Manchurian potatoes
Dal
A coconut curry of some sort
At least a couple other curries I can't remember

A variety of chutneys (coconut, dal, onion, tamarind, mint)

Fruit salad
Pineapple halwa
Carrot halwa

To top it all off, everyone eating the buffet gets a dosa (choice of onion or onion-potato) made to order.

Everything was quite tasty and the curries had fantastically intense spicing. I didn't try anything that was particularly hot and spicy, and none of the dishes was particularly heavy in oil, so I'd imagine that the food would appeal to American tastes.

The dosa was OK, not spectacular, but I thought the chutneys were extremely good.

Service was attentive and everyone seemed nice. Weekend buffet is $8 and weekday buffet is $7, if I remember correctly. There was so much food, we couldn't even try everything.
