So, with the dollar in the state it is (sorry about that folks), and the pound not so great against the euro, I'm thinking we might come to the US for our summer holiday this year. The only thing is that we've already been to quite a few places (a lot of California, New Orleans, Miami, Key West, Sarasota, New York).
Now I know America is a vast place, and there must be some nice places I'm not very familiar with. I'm thinking of nice little resorts by the sea or by a lake, with good weather and interesting things to do, and, of course great food! A big city would be great for a few days, but we really want some R&R as well. We'd also be open to a house swap (we live in London).
If it helps, we loved San Francisco, New York and New Orleans, and weren't that keen on Florida, especially Miami. We also enjoyed driving Route 1 (from north of LA to SF).
What I need is a little inside information, so help me Chowhounds!
