Would love the board's thoughts!
Am thinking of Chanterelle, Boulud Cafe(despite bad reviews in past about their RW offerings), Jovia, Gramercy, and Pampano.
Thoughts on the list:
- I'd ideally like to skip the options that offer lunch prix-fixes normally.
- I know it's not usually recommended but people seemed to have a great experience with English is Italian during the winter RW.
- Is the list shorter this time around?!
Past experiences to offer more data points for others making RW reservations!
-I tried 11 Madison during the winter RW (solidly good. My salmon sucked, but my dining companion's dish and the opening gougeres were fantastic. Not sure if that was pre-Hume or Hume)
-Butter was a nice try for me (unique design, decent food, and sometimes you just want a less-staid scene)
-Tocqueville was a standout (though this was at their old space)
-Abboccato was eh. Nice if I'm on that block and on the corporate acount but....on my own, I'd never go out of my way for their usual menu.
- I've been completely underwhelmed by Union Sq Cafe in the past.
Go at it, hounds!
