We are having 8 people for dinner Sunday, and I want to make a light dessert. I have done plenty of poached pears, apple stuff, etc. and want to try something new.
On Saute Wednesday, it quoted Tracey Ryder as making this: a martini glass with sections of Satsumas(?) or other mandarin oranges doused with a squeeze of orange liquor, then topped with a little shaved chocolate and creme fraiche.
Has anyone tried this?
Questions: would regular oranges do as well? Would unsweetened (or slightly sweetened) whipped cream do as well as the creme fraiche?
Should the chocolate be on the oranges or on top of the cream?
All suggestions appreciated!
