My father-in-law turns 77 next month, and we'd like to take him somewhere nice for dinner. He's hard of hearing and hates to go to noisy places, so I really want to take him somewhere where we can hear ourselves talk. At the same time, though, we'd like to go somewhere with really good food, and preferably something relatively new to the restaurant scene, since he's already eaten at many of the usual suspects. He also has a bad leg and walks with a cane, so it would be ideal to find somewhere where the tables aren't packed together like sardines.
In recent years, we've taken him to places like L'Impero, Craft, Cafe Boulud, and Town. I was thinking of taking him somewhere like Esca or RM, since he's fond of seafood. Please let me know if you have anything else to recommend. Thanks!
