Suggestions for dinner on a mother/daughter weekend

I'm coming to NYC this weekend for a mother/daughters trip. My mother is a not particularly adventurous eater (would prefer European/American to Asian cuisines), my sister is vegetarian and I am interested in finding something that would appeal to both of them. I don't need strictly vegetarian restaurants, just places that have at least one or two options. I'm hoping for places that aren't too trendy and where we could eat a nice, creative meal for $50-$70 per person including drinks, tips.

Some places I've looked at and considered are:

aroma food and wine bar
broadway east
Cafe Boulud
the Kitchen Club
otto
spring street natural

I'm not looking for life-changing dining experiences, I'd like to have a list of good solid options at my fingertips that will keep me from getting dragged to chain restaurants by my family.

Are some of these good locations? Are there any that I should strike from my list for having left too late for reservations? thanks
