I'm looking for a great spot to celebrate my SO's birthday. There will be three of us, and it will be a mid-week evening, so I think we should be able to get in just about anywhere. I'm hoping for somewhere fairly casual and reasonably priced; I think lavish dining has it's place, but it's not for this night.
Last yr we went to Teatro, it's that sorta place I'm looking for and if it's Italian-influenced, all the better.
I was thinking of heading to Grotto for the $30 prix fixe. I've been there before and liked it, and the "anything of the menu" part really appeals to me, it's defintely a great deal. But then I was thinking it might be nice to go somewhere with a bit more of a vibe, perhaps even somewhere with an outdoor patio. Have not been to Eastern Standard, this could certainly be a possibility. Was tossing around Petit Robert Bistro, tho' I'm concerned it might be a little too "authentically French" i.e hardcore for us...(we're not huge meat eaters and I think the menu might be heavily influenced that way) and do they have outdoor seating?
It would be great to try somewhere new (like either of these places) but I'm at a loss for other ideas...anyone?
