I am hosting a small dinner party on Friday. I have already decided on the main course which will be a pasta dish that is a combination of shrimp, tomato sauce, cream, garlic, wine and herbs (Penne a la Betsy - Pioneer Woman).
For the appetizer round, I was thinking of making crostini with proscuitto, goat cheese and fig jam. Do you think that is too heavy of a starter?
Also - if anyone has a salad suggestion that would work well, I would love to hear it. I am thinking maybe an arugula salad with EVOO, lemon and shaved parmesan.
