Can I stuff a chicken with garlic and herbs, truss and refrigerate for six hrs. before cooking?

I have read that you can't stuff a chicken with bread stuffing until just ready to roast but I am in a position where I need to be able to pop directly into oven without even the time it takes to salt, pepper, stuff with herbs, slather with butter and tie up!
I always rinse and dry inside and out before proceeding. Would I be able to do this four to six hours before roasting if it is kept very cold?
