last night after a few beers at the upstairs part of eight mile creek my friend and i ran down to banh mi so 1 and decided to get a few extras with our #1 and #7 banh mi. after taking a glance at their laminated guide, we chose the giant log of sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, which i found pretty tasty although extremely dense, and a platter of 10 little sausages links that were also available in 'squares'. we had assumed that the sausages were raw but the lady behind the counter ('the guy' was busy out front) insisted they did not need to be cooked and were meant to be eaten cold, either with or without the included slivers of garlic and scud pepper. she also recommended freezing these for longevity. i found that these sausages didn't have much taste aside from said garlic and pepper.
does anyone else have any recommendations as far as the other stuff there or at other bahn mi shops? there seemed to be a few interesting choices that included sauces.
so number one,
