Study-Friendly 24-Hour Coffee Joints/Cafes

Hi, I posted this on the Not About Food board and thought I might give it a try here......I'm new to the city and am in need of places to do late night reading and writing (with computer). Places from about 24th St. and southward would be best, as would a bit of atmosphere (ie, not Starbucks).
I saw Yaffa Cafe (sp?) and another cafe a block to the west of it, and I thought I'd be in luck, but both places are food-centric and thus don't seem like they'd be too happy with me ordering 2 coffees over 3-6 hours.......
There's a place on MacDougal south of 4th which is great, but I'd like to see if there are any Chelsea options (close to home) or E.Village options. Or, indeed, any others in the Village. I assume that there must be some places near NYU.
Thanks for the help!
