I have a reservation tonight at studiokitchen after reading all the wonderful reports on the board. I have also wondered about the fact that some menus seem to be supercomplicated while others are somewhat less exciting so we asked the folks at studiokitchen about the conceptual process. Here is the response we got back and they generously gave us permission to post it.
Indeed some menus are more complicated while others are fairly boring. I personally am never bored with cooking
however I concieve the menu based on the totallity of diet restrictions.
here is the scale.
1 BEST POSSIBLE MEAL.
No diet restrictions.
2. VERY GOOD MEAL
Allergy to either Fish, meat or shellfish but no combination of any two.
3. GOOD MEAL
Allergy to at least 2 of the categories (fish, meat, shellfish)
4 OK MEAL
#3 with the addition of any compounded issues such as lactose intolerance, nut allergies, low sodium, wheat gluten allergy.
5 UNINSPIRED MEAL
#4 PLUS any silly fad diets or food preferences that are not based on medical allergies.
Such as protien diets, Atkins BS, carb diets ect ect.
Vegetarians are welcome as long as they are not lactose intolerant.
There you have it.
