We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend and take a drive to Kent. We got there before most of the stores opened, so we decided to have an early lunch.
I had been at an event catered by Strobles earlier this year and really wanted to see if all of their food was as good as what I had had. It was. Their motto is 'More than just a bakery.' It's true.
It's a small "restaurant" - no table service, and just three very small tables inside, with some benches outside (where we sat, to take advantage of the weather!) It would be a great place to grab lunch on a way to one of the beautiful state parks in the area.
We had a crab po' boy sandwich, on a baguette made there. It was incredible. The crab po' boys were soft, full of crab and perfectly flavored. It also had tomatoe, lettuce, roasted onions, with a sweet and creamy dressing. They also have a good size selection of other sandwiches and salads, along with a very large selection of baked goods - all at very reasonable prices.
We also had a scone that was unlike any other scone I've ever had. Soft, moist, flakey, with lots of blueberries. We got a loaf of cranberry walnut bread to go. It was also wonderful.
On our way out of town, we stopped at the Belgian chocolate place (not Kent chocolate and coffee, the other place in the yellow house). We had delicious chocolate mousse, but their prices seemed a little high.
