Street food in JH

Sunday at lunchtime, I found two women of Latin
American extraction selling stew from a table on
Roosevelt Ave. at 94th, outside Roosevelt Farms.

The stew was very good, though not very hot -- they did
not have a hot plate under it. It came with Posole
(=white hominy), which I have never had before; that
had a nice nutty flavor but would have been much better
hot. The highlight was fried yuca, which they were
cooking on a little grill next to the table. They were
also selling tamales and soup.
