Street Food/Cheap Food in Sydney Melbourne Hobart

Looking for recommendations for the best cheap ethnic eats in these Aussie cities. Since I'm from the States, "Australian" is included in "ethnic". I'm looking for things like the best fish and chips, falafel joints, meat pies, bakeries, that sort of thing. I assume that Mexican-American taco trucks will be rather thin on the ground, but that's the kind of tucker I'm looking for. It can be a cart, or it can be a sit-down place, just not a cloth-napkin, $75 a plate thing. I'm hoping for ideas outside of the CBD in Melbourne and Sydney, in particular (near suburbs, like Newtown in Sydney or Richmond in Melbourne. Much thanks in advance.
