OK, finally, a counterexample to the Developers-Kill-An-Iconic-Dive. AND, perhaps more importantly, finally an example of a dislocated icon pulling off a relocation that is true to the soul of the place!
For those who've not yet been to the Streamline's new location at 174 Roy, it's like: (a) the place has *always* been there; and (b) it's the same as it ever was.
Whether the result of a conscious decision or financial constraint, the same booths, bar, stools, paint, floortile, boards, posters, screens, CHARACTER, etc., have been semi-miraculously transported a half mile east. This is precisely what nouveau/postiche icons strive for, save for the *honesty*.
The taplist still sucks, the peanuts are still free, and the Streamline lives!
