Strawberries: Balsamic or Grand Marnier?

ziggylu | Apr 11, 2008 01:15 PM

I'm tasked with dessert for a dinner tomorrow night. I actually don't know the menu but the hostess suggested "something springy"

That said fruit/berries to me. But...I'm working tonight and most of tomorrow so I don't have a lot of time.

I decided to make a batch of Cheesecake Ice Cream(recipe from the Perfect Scoop) with the idea that topping it with strawberries would be nice. I'm going to make a batch of World Peace cookies to take as well.

In our house we really like strawberries with balamic as well as strawberries macerated with Grand Marnier. Trying to decide which might be better with the cheesecake ice cream? With vanilla ice cream I'd definitely take the balsamic....the ice cream seems to be trying to replicate NY style cheesecake with sour cream and lemon in it. Maybe the orange flavor would be better?

Which would you take?
