Strange Texture for St. Andre

Hello cheese lovers!

While it isn't a SUPER fancy/expensive cheese it is still a treat for me to get to buy my favorite cheese, called Saint Andre, a triple-creme buttery wonderfood.

The last time I bought it (within expiration date) from Trader Joes it tasted... strange. Not awful. Just weird. The outside was fine, the normal powdery rind and luscious texture near the rind. However on the interior it was kind of drier and almost crumbly, and more pungent (almost tangy and goaty? if that makes sense.) I served this cheese for year and years at a wine bar I worked for and it was ALWAYS creamy all the way through.... Hmm.

I saw another wheel being sold at costco and the same crumbly thing seemed to be happening! Is this a new trend for St. Andre or did they just have a few bad wheels? Thank you for your advice.

PS. I would have returned it, but it was the middle of the night and my cheese craving got the better of me and I still ate it all....
