Stork's Apple Streudel

ZenFoodist | Nov 27, 2011 07:51 AM

Just have to give props where they are due.

Stork's redeemed itself to us yesterday. They took a special order for apple streudel for my son's birthday party, and it was, in a word, outstanding. The phone hasn't stopped ringing with party feedback this morning, and one thing everyone has mentioned is the streudel. And there were quite a few discerning Germans in the house :) It was perfectly sweetened with the appropriate amount of cinnamon and a really excellent flaky yet "elastic" shell. I've had my fair share of streudels and was duly impressed.

It's not an everyday offering, but can be requested three days in advance. It was fairly pricey as it was priced by the pound, but it was worth every cent.

Topped with Haagen Daaz vanilla ice cream, it was, as one guest remarked "a religious experience."

Give it a shot.
